Instruction: Come up with 4 or 5
stereotypes of Taiwanese students and write a brief description for each
stereotype.
Club guys
This club does not mean “pubs” or “bars”, but the clubs in school, such
as dancing clubs and varsities. Club guys are highly devoted in the club as it
plays an essential part in their college life. They are enthusiastic and good
at socializing more often than not. Thus, they are popular and welcome among
peers.
Nerds
They are attentive to their studies. They are obsessed to a particular
subject, crave for detailed knowledge and pursue extraordinary academic
performance or achievements. They tend to have few friends owing to their poor
interpersonal skills.
Preps (fancy guys)
This
type of people tend to be more fashionable than others around them. They enjoy
reading fashion magazines, follow the latest trends, and purchase plenty of cosmetics
as well as clothes. Before going out, they (female) would definitely wear
make-up because they are like fish out of water going anywhere without make-up.
Preps usually catch everyone’s eyes while walking on the street. They are the
ones who are always on the cutting edge of fashion.
Geeks (otaku)
These people usually stay at home, watching animations all day long.
Also, they play video games sometimes. They cannot live without these things. Simply
put, their heads are always full of animations, Japanese and video games.
